History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Joan was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: Vassago was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Morkral was raised in a hard working conservative environment. While he appears to be a normal Dwarf, he's... not quite right. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. Some 6 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Morkral never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.
