History: Qualen hails from a village terrorized by giants. At a young age his father died while driving off some giants. His mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in sword use. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Qualen fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: He wants revenge against giants; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. Some 9 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Phelaia never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He's also a talented Bookbinder, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: He is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally; and he'd like to take his coworkers down a peg

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Sweet grew up listening to her mother's many stories. At a young age she wooed the heart of her future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. She became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.
