History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Umpen grew up listening to his father's many stories. From there he went from mercenary job to mercenary job. During his travels, Umpen and his party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Umpen discovered the rest of his party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Umpen fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing his own horrible transformation.

Personality: She is intelligent and cunning, but she will too often allow her rage to get the better of her. She will lose her cool and rely on brute force to carry the day. Animals are drawn to her, and she is able to talk to them.

History: She was born into a rich family. Her childhood dream was to be a Beggar, but she was a colossal failure. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

She is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with her old comrades. She has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a son. Some 4 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Burana never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.

Motivation: She wants to meet her childhood hero; and she is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. His father took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Roofer they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Scribe, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent father; and to settle down with his crush
