Personality: He runs his personal life as if detached from it. He organizes appointments and outings based on perceived benefits he will get from it. He lacks restraint and is impulsive. He jumps in and acts without thinking all too often.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Adelard was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Brewer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Engraver they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Brewer, and he later adopted a second son.

History: She was born in the west. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

Motivation: She wants random interesting trinkets and junk, hates to throw anything away; and wants to raise her children well
