Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. He haggles over everything, upselling his goods and buying cheap. He is persistent in everything.

History: Roland was raised in a hard working conservative environment. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting illithids, the young Roland began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.
