History: A powerful necromancer made her what she is. In her 12th year, her parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Valanthe alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by brigands. Valanthe was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the brigands.

History: Born in the north to a Doctor, Decarabia learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She left for the east, certain she would find work there.

History: Oppleby hails from a village terrorized by orcs. His druidic abilities were realized during a raid on his village. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: To pay off his debts; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by orcs, and he desires to right it
