After picking it up he was cursed by a spirit.

History: He was born in the west. A freak accident while working with his Guard mother left him crippled. He has achieved small success as a Shipwright.

Motivation: He feels threatened by others; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Grai was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Grai grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Grai. One night she noticed a nearby shooting star which she hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and she desires to right it; and she has comitted a past crime that haunts her to this day
