History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Personality: She is a Tanner first and foremost. She believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. She will often invite strangers home for dinner and talk their ears off. She cares deeply for her spouse and does her best to make sure her guests look presentable.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Tanner. Since then, she has sought to make the best of life.

Personality: She believes mankind has become decadent and spoiled by the march of civilization and an end should come to life as we know it. She has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: She was born in a small plains village. She was taken from her home at a very young age. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Personality: He will rave to anyone who will listen. The war was a terrible time for him, and Lance does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to him frivolously. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army
