History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Melissa was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. A serious injury left her mother unemployed and in need of constant care. Her family became saddled with debt trying to care for her infirm mother. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Personality: While she acts the brute, she is far gentler than she would appear. A fanatic, her devotion to her small selection of gods is unquestionable. She claims to be doing their will and will base all her actions on whether or not they would be pleasing to the gods.

History: She got into the Ruler business at a young age. Her family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors.
