History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Nelkin and his spouse have recently divorced.

Through the years after Dabbledob was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Dabbledob's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
