She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way east. She has never given up on her writing dream.

History: Randal lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He always admired arcane-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

History: Heir to a fortune, her parents put a great deal of effort into curing her disease. She was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He has had some formal singing training, and achieved minor success. He was granted martial powers by his dying sister.
