Her father taught her the rudiments of the Carpenter arts, while her mother instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: He barks his statements quickly and with little fuss. He prefers small words and is at his heart utilitarian. He keeps company with all sorts of races to see how they think and challenge minds foreign to his own.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. Maagog was born on a far southern forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Spy. He was granted divine powers by his dying brother.

Motivation: To get a good night's sleep; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

Personality: She is a hateful person. She taunts others and blames them for her problems. On top of that she is swayed by a pretty face, and while loyalty to her employer will always come first she doesn't like to hit women.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. As a young child she wandered into the woods despite her mother's warnings against it. Afterwards she claimed she had encountered giants who tried to eat her hand. She spent several years traveling with her friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. He receives visions of the future at random moments

History: Tethren lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Tethren grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Tethren. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister.
