History: She was born to loving parents in a slum to the south. Her homeland was ravaged by war and she spent much of her life rebuilding it. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Her mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her mother was legitimate. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: Regain custody of her son; and her religion dominates her actions

Personality: He barks his statements quickly and with little fuss. He prefers small words and is at his heart utilitarian. He takes great joy in being the best Guard in town.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. Being born in the west, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the west for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and balancing his hectic life and new guard responsibilities is difficult
