History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Carter for the past few years.

Motivation: To be a Fortune-teller again; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

Judging by the bloodshot nature of her eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine she has not slept for days.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. She has a habit of throwing herself into exceedingly dangerous situations.

History: A powerful brothel owner made her what she is. Her father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but she insists her father was legitimate. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

Motivation: She is compelled to act according to her religious beliefs; and her religion dominates her actions

Personality: He is witty, but his monotone delivery comes off as unnerving He lacks moral complications. He does what he is told to by employers but not much else. He spends his money on whatever he fancies at the time.

History: Aelar was born the youngest of three triplets. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Engraver responsibilities is difficult.
