He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Personality: He fancies himself a trickster and likes to rely on his wits to carry the day. He cares for his older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Gerald is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. When Gerald reached his early adolescence his Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Mason they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Tanner, and he later adopted a second daughter.

Personality: He can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. Flattery will make him almost putty in your hands.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Like his father and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Sailor. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by goblins. Patrin was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the goblins.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Her mother was a mechanic, and taught her how to fix just about anything. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She is greedy.
