She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

Motivation: She wants revenge against giants; and her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and she desires to right it

History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. Through the years after Emeny was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Emeny's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by illithids. Emeny was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: A rival would like her out of the picture; and she feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help
