History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Thorin was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has worked as a Baker like his father before him.

Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs
