History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. After a long history of fighting, Gardain and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: She misses her glory days as an athlete. She does not mind her job, but it is boring in comparison. Her job bores her to no end. She has decided to make it more interesting.

History: Pennie was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Pennie grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Pennie. She inherited the family business which she has now maintained for 11 years.

Personality: He seems absolutely devoid of it. He stares off into space and will respond with overly literal and minimalist answers to questions. He works hard and plays hard.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. A freak accident while working with his Slave Trader father left him crippled. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
