History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Bookbinder they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 18th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Gerald alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it
