She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: To pay off her debts; and she made a deal with a demon which lead to her current lot in life, and she's becoming increasingly nervous about it

History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. She dropped out of school before completing her studies. She now spends her time doing works of charity.

Motivation: She is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions; and she has decided she is irredeemable
