History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She was an apprentice working in her mother's forge. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Beggar for hire.

Motivation: To be a Engraver again; and balancing her hectic life and new beggar responsibilities is difficult

Melissa's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Ploughman they were divorced and she won custody of their son.
