Her uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took her in and had her trained in basic self defense. Being a Dilettante kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

She found a children's book about a Half-Orc Barbarian who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She inherited the family business which she has now maintained for 14 years.
