Description: An older woman who is wearing dark clothing and a heavy breastplate, keeping many of her physical features obscured, she is not a threatening figure. She sports a flattop hair cut. She has gleaming, smiling green eyes.

Personality: She likes to make people angry or surprised. Her respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to her, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, she tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in her reactions to snap at those who irritate her, Ranala is combative with any and all who dare try her patience in the slightest.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her father always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. Through the years after Ranala was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. History: Born in the south to a Guard, Ahvain learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Human activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Human doctor. He has achieved small success as a Guard.
