History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, she was no stranger to responsibility. Birel abandoned her home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains.
