History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the north. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered north to less war torn lands. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Personality: He swings through moods quickly. One moment he is cool and collected, the next he is carried away by passions. He will pursue extreme courses of action in the short term, confident that they cannot fail.

History: He comes from a rich western family. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. He quickly showed his capability and was soon promoted to a head role. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Ploughman for hire.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and he is greedy

Personality: He is quite rude, and likes to deride his opponents skill and shout insults at them. He also is a firm believer in the manly ideal.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Through the years after Shivering was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Shivering's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and seeks redemption
