She was an adventurer many years ago and she formed a blood bond with her Elven companion (her 'brother'). She then took over the family business and is one of the better Carpenter for hire.

She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Spice Merchant. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
