History: She got into the Knight business at a young age. She became part of the deadliest team of assassins in recent memory. A botched job caused the group to be disbanded. She struck the Knight job and began her own company from there.

Motivation: She is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences her actions; and sabotage a competitor

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
