History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Fargas grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Fargas. He now mingles about in high society.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. He has had some formal painting training, and achieved minor success. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Courier and was forced into it by his family.

History: He comes from a rich northern family. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: She is very quiet and rarely speaks above a whisper. To her fellows she is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She was granted arcane powers by her dying sister.

Motivation: Someone believes her a fraud.
