History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. When Cumpen reached her early adolescence her Gnome mother passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, she decided to travel. Her rounds led her into the Army with a few individuals who would become her life-long companions. After a long history of fighting, Cumpen and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: She was raised happily, as a normal child born to her father and mother. Her father taught her the rudiments of the Body Guard arts, while her mother instructed her in etiquette, music and courtly manner. She always admired divine-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Personality: He hates brigands. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. A true patriot, Feng would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Body Guard and was forced into it by his family; and his religion dominates his actions
