History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and he has money and likes to spend it

History: Smoking hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In her 12th year, her parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Smoking alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
