Motivation: Expand his business; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it

She bought a hand crossbow and has really upped her game hunting, due to her understanding of decoy and ambush.

Heartbroken, Ar-Karo never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
