History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. History: Joan lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She has dedicated herself to building a better world.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and to reunite with her absent father
