History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: A deeply religious man he believes everything happens for a reason. His philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when brigands swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Valafar was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the brigands.
