History: Raer hails from a village terrorized by giants. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Raer alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. She found a children's book about a Tiefling Warrior who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. She modeled her life after the story, seeing herself destined a hero. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature falchion.

History: She was born in the north. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
