History: He was born in a small forest village. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Darrow grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Darrow. He tends to his Cartwright job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

History: A child with a great deal of writing talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. Her spouse left her for another, whom she beat to an almost bloody pulp. She did not win them back, but she came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
