History: He was raised happily, as a normal child born to his father and mother. His father taught him the rudiments of the Apothecary arts, while his mother instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. Alberich was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Alberich decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Being a Apothecary kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Personality: He is a jovial happy person, but he is convinced people are living their lives too quickly. The war was a terrible time for him, and Balam does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: The child of a Mason, who enjoyed hunting, Balam was taken on many hunting expeditions. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Balam grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Balam. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.
