History: Born in the east to a Layabout, Tree learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. She was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Halfling doctor. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Raised by wardens she was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Her father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by giants. Jacoba was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the giants.

Motivation: Her name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and she desires to right it.
