History: Halander was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Barbarian, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Barbarian in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Laborer work with an outfit from a few towns over. Laborer work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Laborer for hire.

History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. Her childhood dream was to be a Navigator, but she was a colossal failure. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Performer for the past few years.

His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.
