History: River was born the youngest of three triplets. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Ruler work with an outfit from a few towns over. Ruler work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She has since lost track of the people in her past.

History: His arcane talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Tanner responsibilities is difficult; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it
