History: He was born into a rich family. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: She considers herself the protector of her home. She feels this is her duty and calling. She is lazy, self-centered, vain, and jealous.

History: The child of southern immigrants she idolized her father. She always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature kukri.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
