History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Nykkan was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was taken from his home at a very young age. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and someone believes him a fraud

History: Mara was born in the north. At a young age she loved to build and create. Her homeland was ravaged by war and she spent much of her life rebuilding it. She now owns her own business.
