It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: She is quiet and unassuming. She ignores others and carries on with her job unassumingly. She cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist she will grow angry at them.

History: She was born into a rich family. She helped her father out around the business and became quite the natural. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg; and she feels kind of lost in life

History: She was born in the west, but her parents moved at a very young age to the east. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She is searching for what she claims is her rightful reward.

Motivation: She's looking for her big break; and doesn't want to be a ploughman and was forced into it by her family

Personality: She is a woman who does what she needs to. She will acquiesce to black mail and extortion to avoid trouble. She is a bit of a xeno-phobe, disliking non-Tieflings.

History: The child of eastern immigrants she idolized her father. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to her current location. Being a Cartwright kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: She will attempt to ambush and attack anyone she thinks she can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, she will try to sell them to her slave-trader contact; and her religion dominates her actions
