History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Varis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Ruler for hire.

Motivation: He will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal

Personality: She hates gnolls. She views them as having robbed her home of its proper glory. When she's not drinking or sleeping the drinks off, she's doing singing.

History: She was born in the west, but her parents moved at a very young age to the north. Being born in the west, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the west for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way north. She has never given up on her singing dream.

Personality: Eccentric and domineering, Quick will drive conversation. She does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of goblins may trigger it at times.

History: Quick hails from a village terrorized by goblins. Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She ran away from her former home and has been making her living as a Barber for the past few years.

History: She is a Deep Scion in disguise. She has had some formal singing training, and achieved minor success. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature hand crossbow.

Motivation: She is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get her out; and money/treasure
