History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. Some 7 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Zedaar never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

Artin's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by illithids. Artin was horrified and prayed that her mother was alright. However, she heard that her mother had died fighting off the illithids.
