History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. Being a Tailor kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and retire the richest man in the west

History: When he was but 8 years old his parents immigrated from the west. Through the years after Valafar was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Valafar's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has recently attracted an admirer that believes he's playing hard to get.

Motivation: He would like to get married and retire; and he's in love

Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.
