Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by drow, and he desires to right it; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
