His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Weaver. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

She graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. She advanced relatively quickly due to her good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Birel was born the youngest of three triplets. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to her current location. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.
