Personality: He is curt in most of his responses. He prefers to keep his word usage to a minimum to avoid giving away unnecessary information. The war was a terrible time for him, and Rûg does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: When he was but 3 years old his parents immigrated from the east. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He loathes his own lifestyle.

History: The child of southern immigrants she idolized her mother. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: To reunite with her old friends; and she desires power and/or immortality

Personality: She does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. She does not trust anyone and sleeps with one eye open.

History: The child of northern immigrants she idolized her mother. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. Verna was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.
