History: Her psionic talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, her parents had her trained. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She has worked as a Dyer like her father before her.

Heartbroken, Oppleby never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his mother. In his 12th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Alex alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.
