History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Heward was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A gifted student he started as a Sellsword, but he got bored and became a Stableman. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Gifted from a young age, Avelina studied abroad. She took every job she could get her hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the east were limited. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.
